Chronology of cameras Argus

Patent number 2,358,321, filed in 1940 and published in 1944 by Gustave Fassin, protects a camera with a retractable lens mounted on a spring.
The silhouette resembles that of the Argus M, and you can even see the two rivets on the front face.

__________

After the war, Argus reused the base of the Argus M to release a "new" camera. However, the new camera differed from the old one in many ways.
The general shape remained the same, but the lens was no longer mounted on a retracting tube. The tube became fixed and much bulkier. The lens was less luminous, now being a 9.7/47mm. However, there were three apertures with settings indicated by "weather": Bright, Cloudy, Color. There was still a single instant speed in addition to the Bulb mode.

At the back, there was only one green window, as the camera became single-format.
